Corumbá (MS)- Uma guarnição da Polícia Militar Ambiental de Corumbá que realizava patrulhamento de fiscalização no Rio Paraguai, foi acionada pelo cacique de uma Aldeia Guató, localizada a 300 quilômetros de distância da área urbana da cidade.

De acordo com informações, na aldeia havia uma jovem de 22 anos, gestante de seis meses que se sentia mal e necessitava de atendimento médico.

Imediatamente a guarnição interrompeu as atividades de fiscalização e prontamente iniciou a remoção da gestante de lancha até a cidade. Foram seis horas de navegação, em período noturno até a Sede da PMA em Corumbá. De lá a jovem foi removida em uma viatura até a maternidade da Santa Casa para atendimento médico.

As equipes da PMA sempre que em missão na região am para prestar atendimentos e informações nas aldeias e também em outras áreas onde vivem populações tradicionais, tendo em vista as grandes distâncias de recursos, especialmente, médicos para essas pessoas. Trabalhos de Educação Ambiental também são realizados constantemente em expedições aos locais.
