Corumbá (MS)- Desde as primeiras horas da manhã desta sexta-feira (23), policiais militares do 6º BPM de Corumbá em conjunto com militares do 3º Batalhão de Operações Ribeirinhas (Seção de cães de guerra dos fuzileiros navais) do 6º Distrito Naval em Ladário, realizaram a operação “Cidade Tranquila”.
As ações contaram ainda com a participação da Seção de Cães de Guerra do Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais que atuaram na fiscalização de veículos de eio e de transporte coletivo.
Foi realizada a fiscalização de veículos, pessoas e bagagens através bloqueios em diversos pontos de o das cidades de Corumbá e Ladário, bem como, na rodoviária municipal de Corumbá, com intuito de coibir a prática de crimes transfronteiriços na região, tais como tráfico de drogas, roubos e furtos de veículos.
De acordo com informações preliminares, no período de atuação foram fiscalizados 175 carros, 120 motocicletas, 253 pessoas abordadas e dois veículos recuperados.
O comandante do 6ºBatalhão de Polícia Militar, Tenente Coronel Elcio, destacou a importância na atuação coordenada e conjunta, na faixa de fronteira, contribuindo com a segurança da população corumbaense e ladarense.
