Corumbá (MS)- Um suposto esquema criminoso para compras de votos na eleição municipal de Corumbá ocorrida no ano de 2020, é alvo de uma operação da Polícia Federal, deflagrada na manhã desta terça-feira (19) em Corumbá.
De acordo com as informações, sete mandados de busca e apreensão foram expedidos pela justiça contra uma possível Associação Criminosa formada por servidores públicos municipais e membros do poder legislativo municipal, que teriam praticado crimes eleitorais e contra a istração pública nas eleições municipais do ano de 2020.
Ainda conforme nota emitida pelo órgão, não há maiores detalhes sobre a operação, que corre em segredo de justiça.
A ação recebeu o nome de Operação Mercês, um termo do latim que sintetiza a suspeita da pratica eleitoreira empregada nas últimas eleições na cidade pantaneira.
A suspeita e de que figuras políticas tenham se beneficiado de votos a partir de troca de favores, onde os investigados teriam utilizado a máquina pública que deveria servir tão somente ao povo, para angariarem apoio político para suas próprias candidaturas ou de terceiros.
